I worked on my presentation and created 4 slides with statistics based off of the questions that I was asked in my interview.

Summary of Chapter 2:
In order for an information designer to be successful they need to go more depth into the organization and find out things such as politics, goals and agenda. By finding out how an organization ticks it allows a designer to be proactive and offer a smarter solution, and by understanding they are able to work better as a team with others. Before starting anything a designer should outline the process so everyone who is involved understands their roles. Along with the outline everyone should provide contact information, which is similar to group projects we have now, as you want everyone to be able to contact each other if need be. In terms of audience and content, the team working on the project needs to understand the audience's goals and how they align with the client's business strategy as well as understanding what needs to emotionally and physically be there for the audience. For projects that might contain loads of information the alphanumeric solution is used to maintain order. The solution works as a system of shorthand for the team, so they are able to locate specific pieces of content without being disorganized or overwhelmed. Plain language is also a tool used to ensure that written information is clear, concise and meaningful to its audience. Some other tools for creating the best project are to ask the client for past strategic plans, existing marketing research or other client materials. I have and am continuing to learn about this in my marketing minor. I am now taking marketing strategy, but in marketing research we looked at a lot of ways to find information and ensure that the audience is getting the best product of that information that they can. Similar to the creative brief we did in packaging design a creative brief is a short document which outlines all of the information, background and goals while providing visuals. This helps provide visual for the team and answers questions team members might have. After the brief personas and scenarios are created kind of like the personas we create for different projects. This helps the team lay out multiple scenarios and tackle any possible problems that could arise.

My favorite infographics are Maliks:
I think it is really intriguing how Malik used an image as a part of his graph. The pineapple in the first image is really interesting and the way he used it being filled in to portray the 42% of shoppers really helps me visualize the information better. I also think the pizza in the second image works really well. It again displays the data and information in a way that is easy and intriguing to the viewer.
