 For our final project I wanted to look into the air quality of Montgomery County versus Lancaster County. Where I live or Montgomery County we are close to Philadelphia which is said to be one of the cities with the worst air quality. We also have a decent amount of power plants that emit things into the air so I was curious what the comparison of air quality was from home versus here at Millersville.   Sunday 11/1 Grace and I worked on creating our final video for our project on the Reality of Working Mothers. To begin, we developed a color palette. After agreeing on colors, we were able to start developing some graphics for our final presentation. Below are some images of some of our illustrator files.    Sunday 10/18 Before working on visuals, Grace and I worked on developing an outline for what facts we would use on our story board. We tried to make it go in order to tell a story of working mothers. After we knew what we wanted to say, we created our visuals and outline of what the voiceover will say. We think it will work best to have a narrator tell the story while showing the visuals. Wednesday 10/21 After finishing up our storyboard, we were ready to start creating our final presentation and the different animation graphics we would use.  Tuesday 10/13 We decided to narrow our focus on women in the workforce - more specifically, working mothers in the workforce and the negative effects they face. We gathered information from a variety of sources in different categories to get a good amount of data to support the negative losses a working mother faces.    Monday 10/5 For our topic, we decided to focus on Employment Rates based on level of education. Target focus:  Female losses from getting high paying job or having a family (Employment vs Family) What stands out: Based off data, regardless of any education a female receives, they have a lower employment rate than males Conditions women work in: global gap harder to find jobs hired for lower positions The global labor force: 49% for women and 75% for men Working from home Struggling to balance a home/family 70% of women prefer to work in paid jobs regardless of their employment status Female college graduates have 20% fewer chance then women who just graduated high school Story:  Females are either losing out on more income or losing out on a family.  Friday 10/2 Our team consists of Grace and Shannon. How will we communicate:  We will be open and honest with each other when ever we have issues or concerns. We will make sure we are reaching out to each other throughout the project to ensure we are both equally doing our part. When we will meet:  Monday between 10am-3pm and Wednesday between 12pm-5pm.
